Humana Leaves Mark on Kindred Hospice

Strange Tony,

In a high stakes poker game someone is always the mark.  It turns out our hospice was it.

“We have always been anticipating that we would divest a majority stake in hospice,” said CFO Susan Diamond.

Never heard anything like that from our hospice line of chiefs until late 2021.  Word was we might be taken public in an IPO.  I don't think the financial media made that up.

Humana executives hit their mark by stealing wages/benefits from and lying to us from the start, so this isn't anything new.  Their multiple king's ransoms will remain on this earth when their soul answers for the damage they did to staff, patients and patients' families.

No employee support for clinical field staff. The management team is ineffective and their is no internal structure for support. Their is no follow through on what needs to be fixed, they just talk about it and do nothing . They are stingy with supplies for patients, and it puts us field staff in a compromising and uncomfortable position with family’s.

  2. Former P&G CEO to be executive at CDR. This is from a recent P&G employee review:

"You have a 6 month probationary period that they can extend. So, you start off at your base pay and don't get paid the full amount for the job you already do everyday until this period is over. No balance of work/ home life unless you're upper management. Your shift changes every week and this will not change! Communication is horrible. I normally found out about things from my co workers and not my manager. Expect to stay late every day you work nights. You get criticism everyday and it will break you until you get the case of the F its."

    Another P&G staffer said:

"The company lost its balance between excellence and profit. They used to value the “business owners” (employees), but now they only value the bottom dollar. Safety is definitely a high priority, but is often used as an excuse for disciplinary measures. Actions that were accepted, or even encouraged, yesterday to keep a machine running will get you walked out today. Those very same actions may be acceptable again tomorrow. Accountability is great, but the word is often times interchangeable with scapegoating because the tech is always wrong here. There’s a reason for the high turnover. "

  3. Got to feel sorry for the employees at Convey Health Solutions as they are being bought by TPG Capital. Indeed reviews show:

Management is terrible and they only care about themselves. The management is not helpful AT ALL. They require a lot out of you and the pay nor the way they treat employees does not add up to said requirements. RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

No boundaries with how staff and leadership treat each other. No work life balance. Need a team of on call staff. Assignments all over different counties with no division of counties (staff everywhere and sometimes 2 different staff in a different county) Areas not divided between team members and made no sense. Leader did not take into account driving time. Poor leadership.

I would be on call for 72 hours straight with little to no sleep. I would get physically ill and would not be able to perform my duties as a result. I eventually ended up in the hospital with pneumonia and as a result, I lost my job.

Horrible Management. If you want to work day in and day out and never enjoy your down time (or get paid for the interrupted down time) this is the job for you.

This company is a typical corporate entity. The powers that be are seemingly far more concerned about their own pockets being lined, than the welfare of their employees and perhaps even patients.
When they purchased us from the state, they took away mileage, then surprisingly paid holidays... for a brief time, but having taken away that one benefit in the other states, took it here too... in the interests of equality, of course.
They recently began paying out a few bonuses, but other benefits are non-existent. I do not count 401k, as most like myself cannot afford to contribute to it for the future, since it takes every penny to just get by. I don't count insurance, as the required hours and expense make it impossible to many of us. No paid holidays, vacation time, personal days or PTO. No mileage.
Most of my clients have been a blessing to work with, and I've made some close friends. It's a living, but not by much.
I regretfully can't really recommend this company to anyone.
