Heartland Hospice Employee Calls Gentiva Heartless

Strange Tony,

Another Heartland Hospice staffer noted Gentiva's reducing staff, vacation and miserly approach to supplies.

A Gentiva employee noted executive management not listening to people in the field.

I'm sure Gentiva's Human Abuse Department will work overtime to identify and current employees raising legitimate concerns and target them for elimination.  It's the Causby way.

  1. Glassdoor review dated 7-29-24 re: Heartland Hospice stated:

You will most definitely work many hours without being compensated. Mileage reimbursement is significantly lower than federal level. Flat rate if called out while on call. These amounts often don't come close to being adequate for time spent out on a call. Since Gentiva took over staff are fleeing.

  2. Heartland Hospice RN noted in 2025:

Since gentiva took over pay has went down such as mileage, make alot less
    Limited supplies for patients

    Advice to Management

Reducing pay will leave others short staffed and most will quit.

  3. Ohio RN said this of Heartland/Gentiva:

Management is inexperienced, yet rude and condescending to employees who have worked through having no management. Coworkers are dropping like flies, corporate does not care. We are just a number. Patients are suffering although they have suffered enough.

You will be expected to work on your off time and not get paid for it. Management is God awful, it's like high-school all over again, chatty mean girls. Management will be the first to stab you in the back and claim they are just trying to help. You make great money but it is not worth it. 0 work life balance, you are expected to eat sleep breathe hospice.
